Getting Started... PREPARATION Give the walls 2 coats of white latex paint in a velvet or satin finish. PAINTING When the base coat is dry you are ready to paint the sky. Put the blue and
white paint in 2 different containers. Add a little water to each just to thin down the paint a little. Using the wide brush and the blue paint, cover about
70% of the surface in a criss-cross movement. The idea is to leave small areas where the base coat can be seen. Paint about 4 by 4 feet at a time.
Now load a brush with the white paint and create clouds in a diagonal direction across the surface. The clouds can be different shapes and sizes.
Add the paint in the same criss-cross method but make it thicker towards the centre of each cloud. The edges will be quite rough, but as the shapes begin to emerge, blend the white edges into the blue background. Keep stepping
back to look at your work. When you work on the next area, blend in the two areas so there are no hard edges. Because this is latex paint, it dries very fast, so you can keep adding until you are happy with the results.
