      FAUX GRANITE TABLE

Faux granite is as simple as sponging. Choose three colours of latex paint. Pour a little of each into paper plates and, with different sea sponges, sponge on each colour separately.

      TOOLS AND MATERIALS NEEDED

      • Primer
      • 3 colours of latex paint
      • Sea sponge
      • Masking tape

    Getting Started...

    BASE COAT

Apply one coat of primer to the table surface and edges, and let  dry. With masking tape, mark off the pattern shown here (or any pattern you choose)  on the table top. Apply two coats of each chosen shade of latex paint in their designated  areas.

    FAUX GRANITE

    1. Once the base coat is dry, start sponging each section with the two colours other than the base coat colour of that section.

    2. Once all the paint is dry, carefully remove the masking tape, and wipe off the pencil lines. This should give the appearance of grouting.

    3. Apply a few coats of varnish for sheen and protection.
