Medieval Hallway

    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
    EMBOSSED FLEUR DE LYS

    TOOLS AND MATERIALS NEEDED

    • Joint compound
    • Pewter paint
    • Silver powder
    • Kitchen sponge
    • Spray adhesive
    • Fleur de Lys stencil (from Debbie Travis' Stencilling Made Easy  collection)

    Getting Started:

Spray the back of the stencil with spray adhesive, and position it right where the diamonds cross.

With a kitchen sponge, apply some of the joint compound onto the stencil. Carefully remove the stencil, and leave the compound to dry. When you've finished the wall, wash off the stencil.

Once the compound is hard, place the stencil back over the design. With an artist's brush, paint the fleur de lys with the pewter paint. Dip the same brush into the silver powder, and dab the silver around the edges of the design. Remove the stencil, and repeat the process with all the other fleurs de lys. Let dry.
