    TOOLS AND MATERIALS NEEDED

    • Sheetrock 90
    • Water
    • Masking tape
    • Plaster knife
    • Trowel
    • "Denim brush"
    • Sandpaper
    • Plastic fruit
    • Small saw
    • Adhesive/bonder
    • Primer
    • Cream colored latex paint
    • Varnish

    Getting Started...

    1. Add water to the Sheetrock 90 until it has a thick paste consistency.

    2. Tape off the areas that you want to apply this effect to.

    3. Using a wide plaster knife, apply to the wall fairly thickly, smoothing slightly with a small trowel.

    4. Using a denim brush,(or one with stiff bristles), stipple the plaster, changing the direction of the brush constantly, so as to avoid a pattern. Let dry.

    5. When dry, sand back to a smooth surface.

    6. Cut the plastic fruit in half with a small saw. If the fruit is hollow it must be filled with plaster of Paris.

    7. Apply the adhesive/bonder to the wall in the shape of the piece of fruit that will be glued on. Smear some of the Sheetrock 90 onto the underside of the fruit. Press into the wall. Let dry.

    8. Prime the wall and fruit with an alkyd primer that latex can go over. Let dry.

    9. Apply 2 coats with cream colored latex paint. Let dry.

    10.Varnish with 3-4 coats of water-based varnish.
