      (Part 2) 

      STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
      GALLERY STAIRCASE

    TOOLS AND MATERIALS NEEDED

    • Ruler
    • Spirit level
    • Low-tack tape
    • Latex paint
    • Paint stripe pen (optional)

    Getting Started...

    1. Measure out the rectangles on the wall.

    2. Paint the inside in the desired color.

    3. Measure approximately 1" inside the box, all the way around and tape off with low-tack tape.

    4. Paint the top and the sides of the frame in a slightly lighter shade than the inside rectangle.

    5. Paint the right and bottom sides of the frame in a slightly lighter shade than the inside rectangle.

    6. (Optional) Using a paint stripe pen, create a 3-dimensional quality by adding light or dark thin grey lines on either side of the frame. In order to judge which side should have light, and which dark, decide on where your light source is comming from. Use a ruler to keep your lines straight.
