    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
    JAPANESE PANELLING

    TOOLS AND MATERIALS NEEDED

    • Latex paint
    • Spirit level
    • Pencil and ruler
    • Ready-mask tape
    • Paint tray
    • Small roller

    Getting Started:

    Apply 2 coats of latex paint to the walls; this will be the colour of the panels.

    Measure the length, width, and height of the room your are panelling, then decide how many panels will fit onto each wall. Their should be about a 3+1/2" border between panels.

    Measure and mark the panels, then trace the lines using a ruler. Check that the lines are straight by using a spirit level. Tape off these areas.

    Using a short roller, apply paint to all the masked off areas. Choose a colour that works well with the panel colour; this will be the colour of the borders. Remove the tape and let dry.
